For the past few months, I’ve been stressing about internships. But last week, I finally accepted my dream position at The Jewish Museum.
I can hardly say I’m going to take New York by storm–because I’ve been a resident my entire life. But I’m definitely ready to be working on Museum Mile, my favorite spot in the city. My family has been visiting The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Guggenheim since I was in a stroller, so to walk the same streets to work that led me to a love for the arts will be a rewarding experience.
Although I’m old friends with many institutions on Fifth Avenue, I hadn’t visited The Jewish Museum until two years ago. I immediately fell in love with the historic building, and I can’t believe I’ll be walking inside its doors every day this summer.
Getting my foot in the door in the museum industry will be awesome. Working in the most amazing city along with friends from Elon will be incredible. But feeling the satisfaction of my hard work, the benefits of my semester at Live Oak and The Pendulum, and getting to work with engaging people at an engaging place will be the best of all.
